More than machinery, we need humanity; more than cleverness, we need kindness & gentleness. Fight for a decent world.
When I’m in heads-down production mode, this Hans Zimmer track from Inception is my goto hack to flip my brain into a flow state. I can easily listen to it on repeat for 4 hours and get loads of deep work done. Perfect for thinking, writing and synthesising.
When I don’t need that zen-like focus and just need something to light the fire in my belly, I go for thrusting instrumentals like this beast by Overhead The Albatross. It’s brimming with optimism and fuck-yeah that makes the grunt work disappear.
It turns out OTA recorded a live studio version of the Zimmer track and remixed it with that inspiring Charlie Chaplin speech from The Great Dictator. It makes your marrow tingle. Glorious.
